Temperment
The temperment that often skews left politically is also the ideal temperment of an artist, musician, intellectual, and imaginative dreamer.
The temperment that often skews right politically is also the ideal temperment of a business person, engineer, and organizer of practical solutions.
These are, of course, “generalizations” but they often contain more than a grain of truth.
In troubled times — if you haven’t noticed, these are troubled times — practical solutions require the insight and practical application of stable minds firmly rooted in reality.
‘No time for whining complaint and entertainment and definitely no time for, again, trying out the dreams and visions of authoritarian collectivists. *
* For the record, Nazi Germany was heavily administered by authoritarian idealists, many of who were artists, poets, and “philosophers” — they were not pro free-market, pro free-speech, anti-war libertarians.
